What are cookies and what do we use them for?

A cookie is a small piece of information that is stored in your browser each time you visit our website.
The purpose of cookies is to record your activity on our website, so that when you visit it again, it can identify you and configure the content of the website based on your browsing habits, identity and preferences.
A cookie is harmless, it does not contain malicious code (e.g. viruses, Trojans, worms, etc.) that could damage your terminal (computer, smartphone, tablet, etc.), but it does have an impact on your data protection rights, as it collects information about you you (browsing habits, identity, preferences, etc.).

What information does a cookie store?

Cookies do not usually collect special categories of personal data (sensitive data). The information they store is technical data, personal preferences, content personalization, etc.

What types of cookies are there?

In general, there are five types of cookies:

Technical cookies:

These are the most basic cookies. They allow the user to browse through a website, platform or application and use the different options or services that exist on it, for example, controlling traffic and data communication, identifying the session, accessing restricted areas, remembering the items in an order, processing a purchase, signing up to an event, using security features while browsing, storing content for video or audio playback, or sharing content on social networks.

Personalisation cookies:

These allow the user to access the service with predefined general settings based on criteria in their device-for example, language, browser  type or regional configuration.

Analysis cookies:

These cookies allow the provider to monitor and analyse the behaviour of users on linked websites. The information collected through these types of cookies is used to measure website, app or platform activity and create browsing profiles, which helps improve the service based on user behaviour.

Advertising cookies:

These manage advertising spaces in the most efficient way possible. These cookies may appear on a website, app or platform providing the requested service and operate based on factors such as the edited content or how frequently ads are displayed.

Behavioural advertising cookies:

These also manage advertising spaces efficiently but do so by storing information about user behaviour through continuous observation of browsing habits. This makes it possible to create a specific profile and show advertising tailored to that profile.

What are first-party and third-party cookies?

First-party cookies: First-party cookies are those that are generated and managed by the party responsible for providing the service requested by the user
Third-party cookies: These are cookies generated by entities other than the party responsible (external services or providers, such as Google, for example).
