DESCRIPTION
An immersive experience that simulates a workshop setting, where students must carry out tasks involving disconnecting and removing batteries from various models of electric vehicles. In addition, the simulator includes exercises designed to highlight the importance of taking the necessary safety precautions.
OBJECTIVE
Teaching how to operate and use the tools required for working on an electric car, as well as the process of disconnecting and removing the batteries.
ACTIVITIES
- Identifying the main components of an electric vehicle such as the battery, the inverter, the motor, the wiring and the safety systems.
- Disconnecting the battery on four different electric vehicle models: Hyundai IONIQ, Hyundai KONA, third-generation Toyota Prius and Renault ZOE.
- Checking and fitting the correct PPE.
- Vehicle markings.
- Disconnecting the 12V battery.
- Safety relay disengagement.
- Discharging the inverters.
- Battery removal procedure in two different vehicle models: Renault ZOE and Hyundai KONA.
- Unplugging and removing the battery.
- Checking for absence of voltage.
- Battery module replacement in a Hyundai KONA, using safe and efficient techniques.
- An illustration of the effects of an electric shock on the body.
