Tractors and Implements

Operating Tractors and Implements

RECOMMENDATION

Virtual classroom

To carry out the simulator exercises, a clear space of at least 3×3 meters is required.

If you have any questions about this or any other topic, please do not hesitate to contact us.

DESCRIPTION

This simulator allows students to practice the manoeuvres involved in operating tractors and their implements in rural and agricultural settings. It covers the full process of attaching, transporting and operating various implements, as well as driving the tractor in situations that replicate real-world working conditions.

*Driving activities require the use of the steering wheel and pedals.

OBJECTIVE

Developing skills in the safe and efficient use of tractors and agricultural implements to carry out critical manoeuvres, identify risks and apply the appropriate protocols.

ACTIVITIES

  • Familiarisation with coupling and uncoupling procedures.
    • Identification of the main components of tractors, implements and trailers, as well as the personal protective equipment required for each type of operation.
    • Correct application of the procedures for attaching and detaching implements, following the established sequence and observing safety measures at every stage of the process.
    • Safe execution of trailer coupling and uncoupling operations, ecognising critical inspection points, the correct procedure, and the most common mistakes to avoid.
  • Driving and manoeuvres:
    • Development of basic tractor driving skills, including an understanding of the operation and interaction of its main systems and components.
    • Practicing driving manoeuvres and parking in an open-plan training area, working on vehicle control within marked-out spaces and simulating the most common scenarios.
    • Practical tractor driving in different environments, on different types of terrain and at different levels of risk.
    • Operating and controlling a tractor with a trailer through progressive exercises designed to improve the coordination, precision and stability of the tractor-trailer combination, both when moving forwards and when reversing.
