DESCRIPTION
A simulator designed to enhance the training of emergency medical technicians by recreating diagnostic and treatment procedures in critical situations, such as road traffic accidents, within a realistic and safe virtual environment.
OBJECTIVE
Familiarising students with emergency situations that are difficult to replicate in an educational setting, so that they can learn to apply the various protocols for action.
ACTIVITIES
- Electrocardiogram: Assessment of the patient’s condition and correct placement of electrodes for performing an electrocardiogram.
- Triage: Classification of road traffic accident victims according to the severity of their injuries, based on breathing, circulation and mobility.
- Treatments: The use of various emergency procedures for injuries prior to transfer to hospital.
- Bleeding.
- Burns.
- Fractures.
- Neck injury.
- Provision of an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance: Checking the inventory, restocking necessary supplies and preparing the ambulance for future emergencies.
