DESCRIPTION
A training simulator designed to teach the use of diagnostic imaging equipment in clinical settings. It allows students to familiarise themselves with the main radiology, CT and MRI systems, while developing technical, procedural and organisational skills.
OBJECTIVE
To facilitate the practice of the procedures required for carrying out various diagnostic tests, while avoiding the costs associated with using actual equipment and eliminating the risk factor.
ACTIVITIES
- Identification of the components of various diagnostic imaging systems, including their basic function and their role within the clinical process.
- Radiography:
- Reception and registration of patients using documentation and forms.
- X-rays taken on a table and at a wall-mounted unit.
- Precise positioning depending on the area to be studied.
- Alignment of the X-ray tube and adjustment of parameters.
- Acquisition of images from the control room.
- CT Scan:
- Reception and registration of patients using documentation and forms.
- Preparation and positioning of the patient on the table.
- Laser-guided patient positioning.
- Selecting and configuring the appropriate protocol.
- A repository of medical images, with the option to perform different exercises each time.
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging:
- Reception and registration of patients using documentation and forms.
- Implementation of the protocol, from patient preparation to equipment setup.
- Selection of parameters according to anatomical location.
- Simulation of various clinical scenarios involving patients of different ages, weights and conditions.
