DESCRIPTION
This simulator allows you to practice safely with the various tools commonly used in gardening and forestry work, learn about the different components of a cherry picker, and familiarise yourself with how to operate its control panel. Its high level of realism also helps users get used to heights and manage feelings of vertigo.
OBJECTIVE
Introducing students to the use of potentially hazardous machinery and providing training in the use of PPE and safety protocols.
ACTIVITIES
- Selection, inspection and provision of PPE required to work safely.
- Familiarisation with petrol and electric tools, and learning about their advantages and disadvantages.
- Identification of the external components of the lifting platform and operation of the control panel.
- Identification of the components of the tools and a step-by-step guide to cold and hot start-up procedures.
- Cutting at height with a chainsaw, helping students get used to the sensation of vertigo.
- Mowing the lawn with a brush cutter, with recommendations on cutting angles to minimise movement and avoid damaging the ground.
- Using a lawnmower, with advice on safety distances.
- Tree felling carried out in accordance with detailed instructions to ensure it is performed correctly, guaranteeing a safe and controlled process.
