DESCRIPTION
This virtual reality simulator is designed to teach students about the brewing process and professional service in the hospitality industry. It allows students to explore the raw materials, understand the different stages of production in a microbrewery, and practice bar service in high-pressure situations, while applying standards of quality, hygiene, organisation and customer service.
OBJECTIVE
Developing technical, operational and communication skills related with the craft production of beer and its professional service.
ACTIVITIES
- Bar service and draught beer:
- Serving a large number of customers at the same time.
- Correct replacement of the barrel, ensuring the correct pressure and connection.
- Technical aspects of pouring: glass tilt, foam control and final presentation.
- Keeping the workstation tidy and organised throughout the shift.
- Pantry and ingredients:
- Detailed analysis and visualisation of malts, hops, yeasts and other ingredients.
- Identification of the characteristics, origin and function of each ingredient.
- Relationship between combinations of raw materials and the resulting types of beer.
- Producing different styles of beer depending on the ingredients chosen
- Microbrewery:
- Inspection of tanks and equipment used in maceration, cooking, fermentation and maturation.
- Technical explanations of each stage of the production process.
- A view of the inside of the tanks to understand each stage.
- A comprehensive understanding of the workflow from raw
materials to the finished product.
