DESCRIPTION
This virtual reality simulator offers an immersive experience in which students can explore and learn about how a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) works.
OBJECTIVE
To train students, in a practical way, in the phases of water treatment, sludge and gas management, and the essential maintenance process.
ACTIVITIES
- Visit a virtual Wastewater Treatment Plant that allows the user to find out the most relevant data about the facility and the four main phases through which the water passes, with explanations and interactive points.
- Pretreatment: screening, desanding and degreasing.
- Primary treatment: settling.
- Secondary or biological treatment.
- Tertiary treatment: filtration and disinfection.
- Explanation of the components, the operation and the objectives of the sludge and gas lines of a WWTP:
- Interconnection with water line.
- Thickener.
- Anaerobic digestion.
- Biogas tanks.
- Eco-generation engine.
- Cleaning and maintenance process of the water inlet pumps to the treatment plant.
- Evaluation dynamics to consolidate the knowledge acquired during the experience.
