DESCRIPTION
Through this simulator, students learn in depth the components and functions of a lathe, a milling machine and a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) system, and perform basic machining operations.
OBJECTIVE
To train students, in a safe way, in the basic operation of a lathe, a milling machine and a CNC machine so that they can apply the knowledge acquired in a real environment.
ACTIVITIES
- Identification of the parts of a lathe and their functions. Includes an exploded view of the lathe where the smallest internal parts are identified.
- Identification of the parts of a milling machine and their functions.
- Basic machining operations with a lathe:
- Turning on the lathe.
- Placement of the gross.
- Machine configuration.
- Machining where the turning process is visualized.
- Basic machining operations with a milling machine:
- Milling machine start-up.
- Placement of the gross.
- Machine configuration.
- Machining.
- Interpretation of machining work orders.
- CNC machine operations:
- Turning on.
- Maintenance.
- Inserting commands.
- Zero point calibration.
- Use of auxiliary tools.
